Reflexions is the literary and art magazine of the Columbia University Medical Center. Founded in the 1980s, it is published annually, in the spring. The tentative submissions deadline for the Spring 2009 issue is Dec. 1, 2008.
Reflexions accepts previously unpublished submissions of poetry, fiction, non-fiction, art, and photography. Submissions need not necessarily deal with health-related or healthcare-related themes; Reflexions publishes works on all subjects. In the past, Reflexions has published work by faculty, staff, and students from all the CUMC schools.
Send submissions to cumc-reflexions@columbia.edu. Make sure the author?s name, the title, and, in the case of visual art, the medium of the submitted work are clearly indicated. In Dec./Jan. writers will be notified of whether their submissions have been accepted; minor proofreads and edits (usually length-related) will generally be suggested at that time.
ART GUIDELINES: Each artist may submit up to 5 works of art. E-mail all images as digital files to cumc-reflexions@columbia.edu. All common file formats (jpg, tiff, pdf, etc.) are accepted. Pixel size should be a minimum of 300 dpi for a 4x6 photo, 600 dpi if possible.
Sample copies of past issues are available in the P&S Club Office (Bard Hall, room 106), as well as other locations around the CUMC campus.
